MISSION
⚡️ The Challenge
The goal of this project was to redesign the checkout process at Porsche Holding, making it seamless, intuitive, and adaptable across multiple Volkswagen Group brands. A key challenge was ensuring that a single, unified layout could accommodate different purchasing experiences—whether a user was buying a car online, ordering merchandise, or completing a payment via email.
Since the checkout system serves Škoda, SEAT, CUPRA, Audi, Volkswagen, and Volkswagen Business, it needed to be both flexible and scalable. The core structure remained consistent across all brands, while the corporate identity (CI) elements—such as branding, colors, and typography—were adapted to maintain each brand’s distinct look and feel.
This approach allowed for efficiency in development while ensuring a cohesive yet brand-specific user experienceacross the entire Volkswagen ecosystem.
CONTEXT
📋 Overview
To create a seamless and scalable checkout experience across all Volkswagen Group brands, we started with a detailed competitor analysis, examining best practices from various industry leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
Using these insights, we developed wireframes, ensuring a user-centric structure that balanced usability and functionality. After multiple design review rounds with the Product Owner and discussions with developers on technical feasibility, we refined the flow to align with real-world constraints.
The final high-fidelity designs were created within the Unity UX Design System of Porsche Holding, ensuring brand consistency while optimizing design resources. To validate the user experience, we conducted usability testing on the Userbrain platform, gathering feedback to refine and enhance the design further.
This approach allowed for a flexible yet unified checkout process across Škoda, SEAT, CUPRA, Audi, Volkswagen, and Volkswagen Business, balancing efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
